In celebration of its 39th anniversary, the Charles River Watershed Association honored eight outstanding stewards of the Charles River during its recent annual meeting at the Newton Marriott. One of those honored was Marblehead resident Bill Walsh-Rogalski, the Environmental Protection Agency's counsel for special projects.
Walsh-Rogalski received CRWA's 2005 Award for his work towards achieving the goal that EPA launched in 1995 to restore the Charles River's water quality so that it is safe for fishing and swimming by Earth Day 2005. According to CRWA, Walsh-Rogalski has kept the ambitious initiative on track, applying his legal, technical and policy skills in tackling water-quality issues.
