Economic Analyst Internship (Unpaid)

Charles River Watershed Association is seeking an intern with a background in environmental economics to work at our fast-paced, cutting-edge, environmental non-profit.  Intern responsibilities will include researching and analyzing the economic impacts of using “green infrastructure” for stormwater management and assisting CRWA’s project team in developing a stormwater trading program to maximize stormwater controls at minimum costs.  The intern may also be involved with fundraising, research, administrative work, and data compilation.  The ideal candidate should be available at least 16 hours a week during CRWA’s regular business hours, M-F 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  CRWA prefers candidates who are able to make at least a three month commitment.
Desired qualifications:

  • Graduate or undergraduate level degree in economics or a related field; experience working in the field of environmental economics is a plus.
  • An interest in environmental and water issues, and a willingness to learn.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Access to a car and a valid driver's license is helpful.

Watershed Science Internships (Unpaid)

CRWA offers a variety of non-paid internship positions depending on our current projects. In many cases, interns have been able to coordinate these unpaid positions with their school programs so that they get college credit. Intern's responsibilities may include water quality monitoring, invasive plant removal, sample bottle preparation, coordinating volunteer events, data compilation and analysis, administrative tasks, science and/or internet research and other related work. Our intern schedules are flexible, ranging from 10 to 20 hours per week, and are available year-round.  CRWA prefers candidates who are able to make at least a three month commitment.
