Using the Priority Lands map to guide open space acquisitions, zoning decisions, and growth planning, preserving these priority areas, reducing development in them, and when developing them, using best environmental practices, will help protect and sustain critical environmental resources and help curtail sprawls.
This map brings together the combined GIS data of the various natural resources (see list at left) in Littleton, MA. The darkest portions of the map indicate land where many different resource areas overlap, and therefore are the most significant for resource protection.
