American Shad Restoration Project

More than 1.8 million American Shad fry were released into the Charles River in July 2006! During the last three weeks of July, the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries (MA DMF) and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service stocked shad fry into the Lakes District of the river at the Woerd Avenue boat launch in Waltham, MA.
