-
Run of the Charles Canoe and Kayak race
April 29– The rain held off as if to honor the 25th
Anniversary Run of the Charles Canoe & Kayak Race. This
year’s race, showcasing the ongoing improvements to the
Charles, drew over 1,250 competitors, more than a
hundred volunteers and thousands of spectators all along
the race for CRWA’s annual celebration on the river.
-
CRWA Water and Science Festival
April 29– Children had an opportunity to actively
participate in the Run of the Charles festivities this
year through CRWA’s water and science exhibits,
including displays about our various projects, a
watershed in a box, presentations on a Boston Duck Boat,
and eco-boat trips. The exhibits were well received by
John Durant, Director of the MIT Museum. CRWA is looking
for corporate sponsors for next year’s event; please
contact Peggy Sunshine at 781-788-0007 x235 or
psunshine@crwa.org if you would like more
information.
-
8th Annual Earth Day Charles River Cleanup
April
21– This year’s Cleanup was the largest ever,
with approximately 2,500 volunteers participating at
sites all along the river removing more than 30 tons of
trash from the river. Senator John Kerry attended this
year’s cleanup at Herter Park and spoke to volunteers
there. A big thank you to all our volunteers and
sponsors, and we hope to see you again next year! For
