1)       Interested in how rainwater impacts the river? Want to see some ways that stormwater runoff and erosion can be prevent?
You’re invited to join CRWA staff, municipal officials, and others at a Best Management Practices (BMP) Technology Demonstration Workshop at the University of New Hampshire Stormwater Center on Tuesday September 18 from 7:30 am – 3:30 pm. The workshop costs $65 including breakfast, site tour, lunch and transportation from Weston.

Come see the latest BMPs being tested at the UNH Stormwater Center facility, and hear about the latest research and results in BMP effectiveness.  Also hear from the City of Newton’s stormwater manager about their new Stormwater Utility (the first in the area!) which is helping Newton fund its stormwater program. The UNH Stormwater Center provides the controlled testing of 15 different stormwater management devices, including both conventional and innovative systems. Charles River Watershed Association scientists, engineers, and project managers have been quoted often in recent news, serving as experts on issues such as hot water discharges from the Mirant-Kendall power plant, MA Highway’s stormwater management, and the current drought.
