“Greening” Brooks Street, Part 2 Workshop
The
Allston Brighton Green Space have been holding a series of
street greening workshops, and this follow-up meeting will
focus on ideas for improving Brooks Street. Join us on
Tuesday, December 4, from
6:30-8:30 pm at Oak Square YMCA, 615 Washington

Muddy River Restoration Project Maintenance
and Management Oversight Committee ( MMOC) Public Meeting
CRWA serves as an organization member of the Muddy River
MMOC, which is helping to protect and restore the Muddy
River in Boston and Brookline. They are holding their annual
public meeting on
Thursday, December 6 in the
Atrium (2nd floor) of the Landmark Center in Boston, from
5:30-8:00 pm. DCR Commissioner
Richard K. Sullivan, Jr. will give remarks, and the U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers project manager will provide an
update on the status of the design and construction of the

CRWA Brown Bag Lunch on Green Streets in
Dorchester and Allston-Brighton
Come to CRWA’s office on
Tuesday, December 11 from 12:30-1:30pm to hear
CRWA urban restoration specialist Pallavi Mande and
landscape designer Viola Augustin discuss
our environmentally
sustainable urban development work. They will describe two
green street projects that CRWA is currently
working on: the Peabody Square project in Dorchester which
is being designed in partnership with the City of Boston,
and the design guidelines for green streets in Allston
Brighton. The presentation will include an analysis of
existing conditions and proposed best management practices
in Peabody Square as well as draft design guidelines for
three streets in Allston Brighton, namely Everett, Market
and Brooks Streets.
