Special Action Alert: Environmental Bond Bill
************
1) Please take action now to help pass the Environmental Bond Bill
There are only seven business days left before the 2007-2008 legislative session ends, and we need the Environmental Bond Bill to pass this session! Many environmental agencies are running out of bond funds or already have empty accounts. Communities around the state rely on funding from the bond for local aid, maintaining water quality protection, protecting farmland and other open space and repairing our state and local parks. The Commonwealth needs to the Environmental Bond to pass this session!
Please CONTACT YOUR STATE LEGISLATORS TODAY and voice your support for the Environmental Bond (H. 4847)!
To find out who your Senator/Representative is and how to contact them go to:
http://www.wheredoivotema.com
WHAT TO SAY:
* Give your name and town
* Ask to speak to the Senator or Rep. If he or she is not available, ask to speak to a staff member.
* Tell the Legislator you are very concerned about the Environmental Bond - H.4847
* Ask that he or she do everything possible to help the bill to pass this session!
We cannot wait any longer. If the Environmental Bond (Bill No. H.4847) does not pass the legislature by July 31st, the bond will have to be re-filed in 2009 and the state will lose an entire year of protecting open spaces, ensuring water quality, and maintaining our parks.
The legislature is considering many other bills; your advocacy will keep the Environmental Bond from slipping through the cracks. Even after the House passes the Environmental Bond it still must go through a number of steps before it is signed by the Governor, so PLEASE ACT TODAY!
For more information on the Environmental Bond, please go to http://www.envirobond.org/
Thank you for your support!
