Water for Rivers, Not Lawns

We are pleased that MassDEP’s new Water Management Act Regulations have been approved!

CRWA has long advocated for these changes. For the first time, 63 public water suppliers and 87 golf courses will now be required to conserve water during devastating droughts, closing a long-standing loophole that excluded certain water withdrawals from regulatory oversight and allowed overuse of water resources at the expense of our rivers.

Charles River

Charles River Watershed Association’s mission is to use science, advocacy, and the law to protect, restore, and enhance the Charles River and its watershed. We develop science-based strategies to increase resilience, protect public health, and promote environmental equity as we confront a changing climate.
