Charles River Boaters Can Help Stop the Spread of Nuisance Aquatic Plants

  • Water chestnuts reproduce by seeds; stems can reroot.
  • Water chestnuts can be spread to other rivers, lakes and ponds when you move your boat.
  • Please take the time to check your boat and trailer at spots indicated in the diagram below for water chestnut seeds and plant parts hitching a ride.
  • Dispose of plants and nutlets in a trash container.
