The goal of Charles River Watershed Association's 20th Annual Earth Day Charles River Cleanup on an individual level is to provide people with a tangible connection to their local river and tributaries, and to increase the community's understanding of environmental stewardship. The Cleanup aims to motivate volunteers to become individuals who care about improving the health and sustainability of their local environment, while cleaning up the parklands and surrounding areas of the communities to provide safe environments for recreational activities.
