Charles River Cleanup Internship

CRWA is seeking an intern for spring 2018 to help organize our Annual Earth Day Charles River Cleanup, tentatively taking place on April 28, 2018. The intern will be part of the Cleanup steering committee with representatives from other local organizations. Responsibilities may include volunteer recruitment and communication, public relations and media outreach, logistics, and grant writing and fundraising.

Internship Details:

  • All internships are unpaid, but in many cases, interns are able to coordinate with their school programs to receive college credit
  • Internship schedules are flexible within normal business hours
  • The internship program requires a commitment of at least 20 hours per week
  • Interns work directly with CRWA staff and volunteers
  • Learning about important water quality and environmental issues
  • Volunteer engagement, communications and event planning
  • Professional experience working with a small non-profit organization to promote a mission
  • Learn more about current CRWA projects
  • Communication experience
  • Growth in time management and self-direction

Desired Experience:

  • Background and interest in environmental/community issues
  • Relevant coursework is helpful but not required
  • Good writing, research, and organizational research skills
  • CRWA prefers candidates who are able to work at least 20 hours per week and make at least a four month commitment from January to May 
  • Available to assist with the clean up tenatively on Saturday, April 28, 2018
  • Access to a car and valid driver’s license is helpful
