Communications and Development Internship

CRWA seeks a communications and development intern for Spring 2018 to assist with developing printed and online educational materials, donor and media relations, and public outreach. The communications and development intern will help staff to amplify CRWA’s voice by creating new relationships and by strengthening existing relationships with donors, community members and leaders, schools and institutions, and elected officials at the federal, state, and local levels. The work raises awareness of CRWA and the Charles River, while connecting the organization with key stakeholders.

Internship Details:

  • Write, edit and provide support for CRWA website, press releases, e-newsletters and appeals
  • Develop print and online educational materials including presentations, brochures, factsheets and blog posts
  • Develop CRWA’s audience through social media and other marketing efforts
  • Research individual, foundation and corporate funding sources
  • Provide support for CRWA communications and outreach staff
  • Assist with other marketing projects as needed

Desired Experience:

  • Interest and some background in communications, public outreach or development.
  • Knowledge of social media, including Facebook, Twitter, blogs, and other social media platforms.
  • Excellent computer and graphic skills. Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign a plus.
  • Coursework or experience in publicity or marketing a plus.
  • An interest in environmental issues.
  • Comfortable working both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Currently enrolled in college or college graduate preferred.
