One of the country's premier watershed organizations, Charles River Watershed Association (CRWA), located in Weston, was formed in 1965 in response to public concern about the declining condition of the Charles. Since its earliest days of advocacy, CRWA has figured prominently in major clean-up and watershed protection efforts, working with government officials and citizen groups from 35 Massachusetts watershed towns from Hopkinton to Boston. CRWA's mission is to use science, advocacy and the law to protect, preserve and enhance the Charles River and its watershed. For more information, please visit our website at www.crwa.org.
CRWA seeks an intern between May and August, 2019, interested in gaining hands-on training and experience in marketing and design with an environmental nonprofit. CRWA’s intern will have an opportunity to learn and strengthen skills developing printed and online educational materials, website design and migration, and marketing skills, while learning about nonprofit operations. In this mentoring opportunity, you will work closely with CRWA’s development and communications team to raise awareness of CRWA and the Charles River.
CRWA’s intern schedules are flexible, ranging from 16 to 32 hours per week depending on intern’s availability and whether receiving academic credit for internship. This is an unpaid internship. CRWA prefers candidates who are able to make a three-month commitment. In many cases, interns have been able to coordinate with their school’s programs so that they receive academic credit.
