Other Volunteer Opportunities

In an effort to ensure all sites are adequately covered every month, CRWA has established a system of regional samplers. Instead of being assigned to a single sampling site, like traditional sampling volunteers, these regional samplers are assigned to a set of 3-6 sites in the same area.

Regional samplers still sample regularly every month, but rotate between the sites in their region. In the event a volunteer within their region cannot attend a sampling event on a given month, the regional sampler would sample in their place as a substitute. If all volunteers for a particular region are present for a given sampling event, the regional sampler will simply assist with sampling at one of the sites, in order to gain familiarity with site-specific details and the volunteers in their region.

We are currently in need of a Regional Coordinator for the Cambridge region. Instead of sampling at a site, the Cambridge Regional Coordinator would receive the samples collected by the site samplers at the Eliot Bridge and bring them to the CRWA office.

To volunteer for any of these positions, please contact Lisa Kumpf (lkumpf@crwa.org) or fill out the Volunteer Monthly Monitoring Application Form.
