The Charles River gives us so much everyday. It is a home to wildlife, beloved recreation spot to individuals, a classroom to students, and much more. The winding Charles River stretches 80 miles meandering through 23 communities. Connecting people from Hopkinton to Boston and beyond, the Charles means something special to each of us!
Join the Charles River Watershed Association in protecting and preserving the Charles by donating to our #GivingTuesday campaign of giving back to the Charles.
Clean is a continuous verb and every year CRWA works hard to keep the Charles clean of trash, pollutants, invasives, and more.
At CRWA's 2018 Annual Earth Day Charles River Cleanup CRWA organized over 3,000 volunteers to help pick up over 50 tons of trash.
CRWA advocates for the protection, revitalization, and expansion of public parklands along the Charles because we understand the importance of having access to green spaces.
Over the summer, CRWA held our first Free Fun Friday Riverfest. About 900 people attended and were able to utilize the Charles for the day via kayaking, fishing, scientific analysis, and much more.
CRWA understands that you cannot practice what you do not know, and is committed to providing people with the necessary resources and mitigation techniques to prevent pollution to the Charles River. This will better equip our communities and our country to adapt to climate change and emerging environmental challenges.
