Amanda Darby

As the Rita Barron Fellow, Amanda supports the River Science and Restoration programs. Her primary focuses include water quality sampling and analyses, habitat site assessments, conducting GIS and R analyses, and working with and training volunteers.
Amanda earned her B.S. in Environmental and Marine Science at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine before earning her M.S. in Marine Biology at Northeastern University. Her educational background has allowed her to utilize different field data collection methods, as well as communicate scientific findings to a variety of audiences. Amanda has always enjoyed working outdoors, with some of her favorite previous jobs including invasive milfoil control diving and oyster farming. As a Massachusetts native, she is excited to contribute to the work that is being done to restore the Charles and its surrounding ecosystems. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys taking spin and pilates classes, playing volleyball, and spending time with friends and family.
