CRWA empowers watershed residents to learn about and support the Charles River.

A core focus of our work is to inform and empower community members in the 35 cities and towns in the watershed to take action in support of our shared mission: to protect, restore, and enhance the Charles River. It is also vitally important to CRWA to help these communities build climate resilience with nature-based solutions and accelerate climate adaptation in our watershed as a whole.

What we’re doing:

  • River Advocates

CRWA’s growing River Advocates volunteer program is creating a cohort of strategic, passionate, and educated advocates who stand up for clean water and climate resilience. Budding climate leaders in each of our 35 watershed communities who are interested in pushing for climate-smart practices at the local level are encouraged to join.

  • School Visits

Schools in the Charles River Watershed can request a visit from CRWA’s talented, energetic staff for their classroom, camp, or program to to teach their students all about our favorite river and what we do to protect it.

  • Education Resources

CRWA provides watershed residents, educators, and local officials with practical resources to help them make their homes, schools and communities more eco-friendly and climate-resilient.
