FALL 2026 INTERNSHIP
Communications Intern
CRWA’s Communications Internship offers on-the-job training and experience in community engagement, event planning, and communication. The intern will support our Communications team. Responsibilities may vary but can include attending community events and tabling to promote CRWA’s work, supporting our webinars and in-person events, managing contacts, creating educational materials, and organizing photographs and digital collateral.
Internship Details:
This internship is unpaid and available to students earning academic credit or a stipend from an educational program. Internship schedules are flexible within normal business hours (may need to work some evenings and weekends). This internship is hybrid.
Potential Skills Gained:
Learn about important climate change, water quality, and environmental issues
Community engagement, outreach, and communications
Experience with contact management software
Professional experience working with a small non-profit organization
Event promotion, planning, facilitation, and implementation
Presenting about environmental issues and solutions at workshops and community events
Preparing graphics for handouts/brochures, newsletter articles, and public presentations for education and outreach
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Strong interest in climate communication
Willingness to learn and ability to work independently
Exceptional interpersonal skills and willingness to be a team player
Strong verbal and written communication skills; multilingual is a plus
Preliminary coursework in environmental science, communications, or a related field
Experience with Google Workspace, Canva, and Adobe Suite (Videography, non-linear editing, and graphic design skills are a plus, but not required)
Experience with DSLR/mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras is a plus
Access to a car and a valid driver’s license is a plus
Willingness to work some evening and weekend hours
