Development Intern

CRWA's internship positions are open to all individuals who are looking to kick-start their career in water. Internships offer training in a variety of areas, including environmental science, climate resilience, advocacy, and education, and provide individuals an opportunity to be part of an exciting and dynamic team. If you have interests and/or experience that would relate to multiple internships, please indicate this in your cover letter. Our small organization works collaboratively across program areas. All internships are available to students earning academic credit or a stipend from an educational program to participate.

Internship Details:

CRWA’s development internship offers on-the-job training in development tasks in support of all of our programs. Areas of focus may differ depending on the time of year, but may include composing newsletters, engaging donors, researching funding opportunities, providing event planning support, providing on-site event support, creating educational materials, and drafting social media posts.

Potential Skills Gained:

  • Learn about important water quality and environmental issues

  • Communicating about environmental issues through conversation, writing, and visuals.

  • Professional experience working with a small non-profit organization

  • Working with donors and stakeholders

  • Event planning and implementation

  • Researching funding opportunities using prospecting tools

Desired Experience:

  • An interest in environmental and water quality issues

  • Willingness to learn and ability to work independently

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Preliminary coursework in environmental science, journalism, business, communications or related field

  • Experience with Google Workspace, Canva and Microsoft Office - social media savvy is a plus!
