Since European settlement began, the Charles River and its tributaries have been dammed, fragmented, and buried. What was once a clean, flowing, flourishing river now suffers from poor water quality, impeded fish passage, habitat loss, invasive plant growth, and contaminated sediment, posing health and safety risks to the river’s natural ecosystem and the people who use it.
CRWA developed a watershed-wide restoration plan, with a focus on aquatic connectivity to understand, identify, and address some of the elements responsible for the river’s degradation, including the many dams and culverts within the watershed.
Join our webinar for a guided tour of the restoration plan, hear from the team that developed it, and learn how it can help you restore our shared ecosystem within your community.
