Meet Your Watershed: Rose Mallow Kayak Tour

  • Newton Historic Boathouse 2401 Commonwealth Avenue Newton, Massachusetts, 02466 United States (map)

This event is sold out.

The rose mallow plant, or Hibiscus moscheutos, features spectacular displays of giant, dessert-plate-sized flowers in various shades of pink and white. Professor Richard Primack of Boston University will lead a stunning tour of rose mallow sites via kayak along the Charles as part of CRWA’s Meet Your Watershed Series.

Professor Primack is a plant ecologist at Boston University. His research focuses on the effects of climate change on the timing of seasonal biological events, including the flowering times of wildflowers. He is also an author in conservation biology.

We will be meeting at the Kayak Launch in Millennium Park. Please note that many of the available boats will be tandem kayaks, so you will likely be paired with a fellow paddler. You are welcome to bring your own kayak.
