Charles River Watershed Association named official charity partner of the Boston Marathon (Press Release)
BOSTON, MA – Charles River Watershed Association (CRWA) is excited to announce that it has been named an official charity partner of the 130th Boston Marathon® presented by Bank of America.
CRWA’s Team Charles River will include four marathoners, and all funds raised by the team will support the nonprofit’s efforts in developing science-based strategies to enhance climate resilience, safeguard public health, protect the Charles River and promote environmental equity.
Runners with Team Charles River will receive full and personalized 20-week training plans by RRCA-certified coaches with organized group runs throughout the season starting in December. They will also receive professional fundraising and training support through CharityTeams.com, team marathon gear, and a VIP bus ride to the start of the race.
“Boston Marathon runners have shared the same route as the Charles – from Hopkinton to Boston – for over 100 years,” said Executive Director Emily Norton. “We’re thrilled to join the Boston Marathon as an official charity partner and can’t wait to cheer on runners who will be racing for a cleaner, healthier river.”
