CRWA Defends Drought-Related Water Conservation Measures in Court
CRWA was in the Massachusetts Court of Appeals on April 14 to defend common sense water conservation requirements during times of drought. Represented by attorney Harley Racer of the law firm Rich May, P.C., CRWA intervened in the case to support MassDEP’s regulations that limit “nonessential” outdoor water use–like lawn watering and car washing–during droughts. The regulations have been challenged by some water suppliers who argue that their customers should not be forced to conserve water during droughts because they will lose that revenue.
