CRWA In The News: ‘Environmental Groups Push Back on MWRA Plan Allowing Sewage Overflows Into Charles’

A new article in The Harvard Crimson mentions CRWA alongside Save the Alewife Brook and the Mystic River Watershed Association, expressing disappointment in the MWRA’s recent decision to continue dumping sewage into the Charles and Mystic Rivers (including the Alewife Brook).

The article quotes Charles River Watershed Association Executive Director, Emily Norton, “It’s extremely frustrating to us that people in Massachusetts love the Charles River and don’t want to see it being used as a toilet, and yet our elected leaders are voting — elected and appointed leaders are voting — to continue to use it as a toilet”.

Thank you to The Harvard Crimson for covering this important story.
