Keepin’ It Clean For Earth Day: 2026 Charles River Cleanup
Between Friday, April 24, and Saturday, April 25, more than 500 community members organized across the watershed for the 27th Annual Charles River Earth Day Cleanup. CRWA volunteers removed 450 trash bags worth of litter from the parks, forests, playgrounds, paths, and shorelines surrounding the Charles River and its tributaries. Since its inception in 1999, the Charles River Earth Day Cleanup has mobilized thousands of volunteers each year to remove vast amounts of litter and invasive plants and assist with park maintenance along the Charles River’s 80-mile stretch and within the 1,100 acres of Emerald Necklace parkland surrounding the Muddy River. Thank you to everyone who volunteered!
