Meet CRWA’s Newly Elected Board Members

On March 27, more than 120 CRWA members, partners, and volunteers joined us at the MIT Welcome Center for our 60th Annual Meeting. We honored the contributions of the dedicated volunteers, advocates, and environmental leaders who make our work possible and voted to elect board members and officers. Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating the progress we’ve made!

Katie Garvey is the Director of Operations and Research at Eaglemere Foundation, where she leads environmental conservation initiatives focused on preserving protected landscapes and restoring freshwater ecosystems. In addition to CRWA, Katie volunteers with various school organizations, local Sherborn organizations, and coaches her kids in lacrosse.

Charlie Hagedorn has held senior general management roles across multiple industries, including fast food, automotive lubricants, analytical instruments, and hauling, with leadership assignments in the United States, India, the Netherlands, and Argentina. Charlie’s connection to the Charles River is longstanding and deeply personal. He first sailed on the river in 1974 and, after spending nearly twenty years away from Boston, returned in 2001 to find the river dramatically improved thanks in part to the Charles River Watershed Association's work. An avid rower who participates in the Head of the Charles each year, Charlie spends most spring and fall mornings on the river. That long relationship with the river—and a profound appreciation for clean water— motivates his commitment to supporting CRWA’s mission and contributing to the stewardship of this vital resource.

Frank Hunnewell is the founder and Managing Partner of People Engines, LLC, helping organizations improve performance by leveraging behavioral and cognitive science from the Predictive Index talent optimization platform. Prior to founding People Engines, Frank was the COO of Predictive Index (PI) and participated in the company's acquisition from the founding family. Before PI, Frank turned around and ultimately purchased ChildLife, Inc., the nation’s original brand of outdoor wooden play equipment.

In addition, five members–Laurie Doyle, Martin Flusberg, Paul Levy, Linda McLane, and Dan Sieger–renewed their board of directors memberships. Congratulations also to Dan Sieger, elected board vice president; Chris Markiewicz, elected board treasurer, and all of our awardees for their outstanding contributions. We would also like to thank MIT for sponsoring the event. We are truly grateful for the support and dedication of our volunteers and partners, whose partnership is invaluable to our mission.
