Welcome, Interns

From left to right:

Espi Garschina (Restoration and Climate GIS Intern) is getting her master's in Geographic Information Science at Clark University in Worcester. She is excited to be working with CRWA on various mapping and modeling projects.

Islay Morrison (Climate Communications Intern) is a senior at Brandeis University, majoring in Environmental Studies and minoring in Creative Writing and English. Islay spent a semester abroad conducting benthic marine research in Turks and Caicos with the School for Field Studies.

Gillian Mulder (Community Engagement Intern) is a junior at Brandeis University studying Biology and Environmental Studies with a minor in Economics. She is originally from New York City and previously volunteered at the Central Park Zoo.

Alessandra Nagarajan (Volunteer Engagement Intern) is a second-year Environmental Studies student at Suffolk University. Originally from Newton, Alessandra is excited to help organize this year’s Charles River Earth  Day Cleanup.

Thank you to Nathan Nozea, who worked as a “Wintern” this January, overseeing the creation of an Aquatic Plan Invasive Species Guide, a pamphlet designed to educate rowers about invasive plants in the Charles. A first-year student at Brown University, Nathan plans to major in both Political Science and Modern Culture and Media.

Isabella Shady (Advocacy Intern) is a third-year undergrad at the University of Massachusetts- Boston studying Environmental Science and International Relations. Her love for the environment stems from growing up along the Charles and kayaking with her family.

Charles River

Charles River Watershed Association’s mission is to use science, advocacy, and the law to protect, restore, and enhance the Charles River and its watershed. We develop science-based strategies to increase resilience, protect public health, and promote environmental equity as we confront a changing climate.
