ACTION ALERT: Speak Up Once More for Climate Adaptation Research in the Northeast

Once again, our partner is under attack.

The Northeast Climate Adaptation Science Center (NE CASC) provides actionable climate information and resources for land/water/wildlife managers across 14 states in the Northeastern United States, including Massachusetts. CRWA and thousands of others rely on NE CASC research to accurately respond to climate change.

Your support earlier this year had an impact, leading Congress to reject the Trump Administration’s budget proposal that would have completely defunded NE CASC and all the climate research it provides. But now the president is trying to circumvent Congress, diverting the $14 million funds allocated to CASCs to unrelated projects.

Your voice has made a difference before, and it is urgently needed again. Here’s how you can help right now:

  • JOIN THE RALLY: This Thursday, August 28 at 12 p.m. the National Wildlife Federation will host a rally in support of these science centers.

  • SPREAD THE WORD: Share this message with your network and colleagues. Stand with science, stay informed, and help raise awareness about this issue.

  • SPEAK OUT: Public support for the CASCs has already proven effective in curbing damaging executive actions, make your voice heard in ways that feel right to you.

NE CASC actively researches topics that affect the Charles River watershed, including:

CRWA relies on this research to ensure our work, recommendations, and collaborative efforts are grounded in the best available science. Without funding, jobs are being lost, and this vital research is severely hindered, leaving us without the resources and information we need to protect ourselves and our environment from climate change.

We urge you to support continued investment in this critical work to safeguard our environment and public health.
