Charles River Watershed Association Testifies at the State House

Earlier this week, Climate Resilience Director Julie Wood and Restoration & Engagement Associate Emilia Dick Fiora del Fabro testified before the state’s Environmental and Natural Resources Committee on behalf of two pieces of climate resilience legislation:

  • The Flood Regionalization Bill (H.3938, S.658), sponsored by Rep. Amy Mah Sangiolo and Sen. Michael F. Rush, would establish a statewide flood management and mitigation authority to lead flood management and prevention efforts across the state.

  • The Drought Management Bill (H.1003, S.586), sponsored by Rep. Joan Meschino, Rep. David M. Rogers, and Sen. James B. Eldridge, would establish a statewide drought management task force to require regional water conservation measures during a declared drought for all non-essential outdoor water use.
