Cheesecake Brook Wet Meadow and Bank Restoration Maintenance

On June 2nd, CRWA and the City of Newton performed Wet Meadow and Bank Restoration Maintenance at Cheesecake Brook. CRWA staff were joined by Eric Highers, Environmental Engineer for the City of Newton, to review the current conditions of the restoration features throughout the brook. Issues such as scouring and debris accumulation were recorded, with plans made to address these issues in the immediate or near-term future. Overall, the brook's restoration features were found to be in proper working order, with the expectation that it would be in even better condition upon full establishment of the grasses and saplings planted throughout.
