Drought Update: Improved Conditions

April showers bring May flowers…and improved drought status! Following a rainy few weeks, the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs announced improved drought conditions for the Charles River Watershed. Most of the watershed is now experiencing Level 1 (Mild) drought conditions, while some municipalities are experiencing Level 2 (Significant) drought. This is great news, considering the watershed has been in Level 3 (Severe) drought since last fall. Hopefully, spring rains will continue to improve conditions. Residents are encouraged to minimize water use and follow local water restrictions.
