Muddy River Vision Workshop — Key Takeaways
On a sunny Sunday afternoon, over 50 community members gathered at the Brookline Village Public Library for a Muddy River Vision Workshop. This event, which CRWA organized in collaboration with the Emerald Necklace Conservancy (ENC) and the Consensus Building Institute (CBI), provided an opportunity for residents from Boston, Brookline, and Newton to share valuable insights on potential restoration projects aimed at improving water quality and enhancing climate resilience in the Muddy River watershed.
We received thoughtful feedback from participants, offering a range of perspectives on both the opportunities and challenges associated with each proposed restoration project. The input we received on creative uses, historical significance, natural beauty, thriving ecosystems, climate considerations, and recreational co-benefits will be crucial as we refine and develop these options. We heard the community’s questions about the impact, cost, and feasibility of these projects, and we are committed to addressing these concerns and providing further clarification before determining the next steps.
If you want to share additional feedback or couldn’t make it to the workshop, please fill out this survey to share your thoughts! Please feel free to share with colleagues and neighbors. We look forward to hearing from you!
