This year, the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) and the Cities of Somerville and Cambridge were legally required to draft a long-term control plan for the combined sewer overflows that release sewage into the Charles River during heavy rainstorms. The draft plan they released in April is so weak that it would allow continued sewage dumping for decades to come. Public comments are open through September 30. Tell regulators you want a stronger plan to eliminate sewage discharges once and for all.
